Pool with a vevu-inspired core, concept design

Ulifushi · Well-being and play

A sanctuary of ancestral healing and balance.

Well-being shaped by generations of Maldivian knowledge, where healing is guided by nature, rhythm and lived tradition.

Concept design

Dhivehi beys

The traditional Maldivian system of healing.

Dhivehi beys draws on generations of knowledge of plants, minerals and natural remedies, shaped by trade routes that once linked the Maldives to distant shores. At Ulifushi it is practised by hadhaamun, healers who carry this knowledge forward.

Strength here comes from island life itself: climbing coconut palms, swimming open water, working with the land and sea. Ulifushi's movement practices draw on those skills rather than on routine exercise.

Well-being spaces

Three places to heal, move and rest.

Spa · Phase 2

Hadhaam

Veeru

Pool · Phase 2

Vevu

A 50 × 25 m pool with a circular core inspired by the stepped vevu, the traditional bathing tank, plus a children's pool.
